Introduction to Herbalism: Level III

This hands-on class will explore the synergy of herbs, extraction methods, and blending techniques to create effective and balanced remedies. Through guided demonstrations and practical application, you'll craft your own personalized formula to take home.
This class is ideal for students who have completed Introduction to Herbalism Levels I and II, or have foundational herbal knowledge and are ready to deepen their skills in formulation.
Participants will make a custom herbal formulation — tea or tincture — to enjoy and use at home! A detailed handout covering topics discussed in class will also be given to participants at the classes end.
Meet the Instructor
Kayla Barthelme is an herbalist, farmer, and avid plant lover with a BS in Conservation Biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
Her love of nature and ecology has taken her all over the world to further her relationship with plants and study their role in different communities.
She has studied ethnobotany with Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer and received her Permaculture Design Certificate in Oregon. She has also completed the Vitalist Herbal Practitioner Program through the School of Evolutionary Herbalism.
She is the founder of Soul Creations, where she grows her own medicinal herbs and flowers on a serene piece of farmland in Mattituck on the North Fork of Long Island. Utilizing regenerative, organic practices to grow high-quality and potent medicinal herbs, Kayla continues to serve the local community — both plant and human!
